Oscars 2014 - Official Poster With Host Ellen DeGeneres - Photo

The 86th Academy Awards isn't until March 2nd, which means there's more than enough time to roll out promotional materials. And that's exactly what ABC is doing, releasing the first official poster of Ellen DeGeneres as Oscar host.

The poster is among the more simple that ABC has done in recent years, depicting DeGeneres against a tan background, sitting on the floor next to a gleaming, gold Oscar statuette. Perhaps the simplicity of the poster will reflect a welcome return to minimalism and simplicity on the telecast? Eh, probably not. But hey, the Oscars can still be fun when it's wall-to-wall bombast.
