Oscar Pistorius Sentenced to Mere 5 Years in Prison for Culpable Homicide

Despite ridiculous efforts by the defense, Olympian Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in prison for the culpable homicide of his late girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The ruling was announced by a judge today (Oct. 21) who chose to slap Pistorius with a five year sentence out of the maximum 15 he was facing because of "mercy" or something.

"I am of the view that a non-custodial sentence would send a wrong message to the community," the judge explained of her decision, adding, "On the other hand, a long sentence would not be appropriate either as it would lack the element of mercy.

Estimates say that for his "gross negligence," Pistorius probably won't even serve a year of his sentence, with legal experts saying at most he will be in prison for 10 months.

Prosecutors have 14 days to appeal the decision.
