Oscar Pistorius' Suggested Sentencing For Homicide Conviction is House Arrest

Olympian Oscar Pistorius may have been convicted for culpable homicide in the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, but that doesn't mean the defense is taking his punishment very seriously.

In response to the conviction, a social worker has suggested both community service and house arrest as his sentencing.

You read that right, a state official testifying for the defense has recommended Pistorius have to do janitorial work two days a month for the next three years in combination with house arrest. FOR MURDERING HIS GIRLFRIEND.

While the social worker believed that Pistorius should not "be destroyed" but rather rehabilitated, the prosecution called the suggestions "shockingly inappropriate" considering the circumstances.

An actual sentence will be determined by a judge, who can fine Pistorius, assign him community service or sentence him to a maximum of 15 years in prison.
