One Life to Live - Week Video Recap & Review - Chapter 1, Part 1-4
This week's One Life to Live rightfully picked up where it ended - with the Tale of Two Todds saga.
Capricorn was revamped by Blair (Kassie DePaiva) and Cutter (Josh Kelly) as Shelter and everyone showed up to the club's opening night. Natalie (Melissa Archer) left little Liam at home for a while to go turn up at Shelter and awkwardly dance with Cutter before she headed home early.
TOLN/OLTL
Matthew (Robert Gorrie) was headed out on his way to Shelter when Bo (Robert St. Woods) and Nora (Hillary B. Smith) found oxycotin pills in his pocket! Matthew stormed out (and moved out), frustrated that his parents didn't believe that they weren't his. Join by the other teens at Shelter, it is revealed that the pills belong to none other than Dani (Kelly Missal)! Matthew met up with he and Dani's friend from London boarding school, Jeffery King (Corbin Bleu) who has moved to Llanview to work with Viki (Erika Slezak) on The Banner. Matthew's baby mama Destiny (Laura Harrier), like Natalie has also left the baby at home and partying at shelter, in spite of the fact she labeled Matthew a deadbeat dad upon arrival. Dani was a hot mess, slurring, falling all over the place and drinking out of other people's cups before she collapsed just as Tea had arrived to talk to Blair and right in front of her two fathers - Todd (Roger Howarth) and Victor (Trevor St. John), the latter returning back from the dead.
TOLN/OLTL
In the not-so-secret return of Trevor St. John, the reunion of Victor & Tea was everything and more as they slid right back into the chemistry they had before. As Victor showed up in the waiting room with everyone else, he and Tea had a heartfelt reunion while everyone else didn't react too much. Victor and Tea went to go see Dani in the emergency room - as she went into shock believing that Victor couldn't be back from the dead but once she realized it was true she also had a good reunion with him. Todd then came to break the party up, but Dani blamed him for all of her problems and said he is the reason she is spiraling out of control! Victor and Tea come back in and see he and Dani arguing before he orders Todd out and says to stay away from "his" family!
Victor and Tea went back home and had a rendezvous while he was still fairly disconnected from reality and wouldn't open up to Tea of what happened and has some sort of tattoo marking now on his wrist. He walks up and notices the baby room and Tea has to explain to him that she was pregnant with their child and how Todd delivered the stillborn baby and then switched it with Sam McCall's in Port Charles. After Tea leaves, Todd rips apart a stuffed animal in the nursery and is clearly going to be out for vengeance. Blair and Todd also have a conversation and Blair tells him that he just can't come back to Llanview and swoop back into everyone's life and how he is such a horrible father and husband. He agrees, but Blair clearly feels bad about what was said.
TOLN/OLTL
Jeffrey is a new hot-shot reporter for Viki and has done a story on Dorian (Robin Strasser)'s senatorial career which is resulting in the umpeenth Viki vs Dorian battle. Dorian berates Viki for doing this but Viki just says the American public needs to know about their government. The situation goes even further when Jeffery convinces Viki to run a online story about Dorian insulting her constituents in a private conversation with Viki. This story comes up just as Dorian is doing a TV interview to explain everything to the public. She vows to get back at Viki! While David (Tuc Watkins) Dorian's right hand and there to support her, Clint (Jerr Ver Dorn) and Viki are back strong as he is now off house arrest.
Let me just put it this way - the OLTL revival was on point. The opening was iffy with some of the dancing and I would prefer a more traditional but oh well, OLTL is back! It was so good to see Florencia Lozano and to have Trevor St. John back on the show. Kelly Missal owned every scene in the vein of her mother. Robert Gorrie is one of the most promising soap newcomers and it's like he was Matthew all along. I'm also impressed with Corbin Bleu on the show and new Destiny in Laura Harrier. I know some fans have been irked that a lot of the characters had a non-reaction to Victor's return and I can say that I agree with that as well. I had the Vimal/Rama stuff and they can both be offed. Also Cutter needs to be made use of better before he gets annoying as well. But all in all, OLTL delivered and I can't wait to see what happens next.
