It's barely been a day since One Direction's music video for “Best Song Ever” was released online, and it's already breaking records, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

VEVO, an online entertainment platform, announced today that the video by the British boy band had amassed 10.9 million views within 24 hours of its release, beating out Miley Cyrus’ latest video, “We Can’t Stop,” which garnered 10.7 million views in its first day online.

The video features the members of One Direction portraying caricatures of types within music industry: Niall Horan rocks a beard as the “Studio Exec”; Zayn Malik cross-dresses as the “Sexy Assistant”; Harry Styles puts on glasses as the “Marketing Guy”; Liam Payne sports neon workout gear as the “Choreographer”; and Louis Tomlinson dons a gold chain and a shaved dome, in a role that evokes memories of Tom Cruise's Tropic Thunder character, Len Grossman.

The popular music video is actually being used to promote the band's upcoming film, One Direction: This is Us. To this end, “Best Song Ever” features numerous clips from the movie, some of which were seen in the previously-released trailer. The film will be released Aug. 30 in 3D.
