One Direction sang “Best Song Ever” on The X Factor Australia 2013 Grand Final.

I still find it kind of crazy that a group this successful was formed at an X Factor boot camp, of all places. The entire crowd singing along in between screams is some crazy 1999 Backstreet Boys-level reaction. It really shows the potential this show has to find a star (or five of them, anyway). I will say this about the performance: these boys need to learn how to dance. I mean, seriously, why don't boy bands dance anymore? Why, in my day, [puts on old man glasses and fills a glass of water with Metamucil] you couldn't call yourself a boy band if you didn't dance! And they just look awkward when they're standing around in-between verses with nothing to do. It's one of the reasons why, as completely corny as they are, I enjoy Kingsland Road on The X Factor UK. If we could just combine their showmanship with 1D's look, who knows?! (Seriously though, something needs to be done about Kingsland Road's look. I feel like I'm watching Captain Planet's Planeteers hit the stage every Saturday).

But all jokes aside, this was pretty fun, as 1D always tends to be.
