Once Upon A Time - The Shepherd - Recap

Fans of Prince Charming are gonna love this episode because it's all about him. Kind of. Sort of. You'll see. First of all, Charles Widmore is Prince Charming's father. This guy is everywhere. Mary Margaret and Emma drink MacCutcheon. LOST.

In Fairy Tale Land, Prince Charming is enlisted by a king to slay a dragon in return for gold for his own kingdom. After he proves himself, he is stabbed in the back during a fight. Prince Charming DIES. What the hell?? Looks like this guy wasn't the Charming we know and love. He has a twin living with his real mother on a sheep farm somewhere. The real Prince's father begs Rumpel to bring his son back. Since that can't be done, he goes to make a deal with the twin. He makes a deal with the brother to play the part of the prince and slay the dragon. In return, Rumpel will save his mother's farm.

Prince #2 (who is as of now nameless) successfully slays the dragon and is happy to be done with this business. He's happy his family is profiting from this one time deal but is less than happy when he learns it was a lifetime commitment. His mother's life is threatened and he is forced to marry the King's daughter (Kathryn's Fairy Tale counterpart.) He says goodbye to his mother and sets off on a trail to the palace where we know he will soon meet the love of his life, Snow. Prince #2 is a hopeless romantic.

Unfortunately, it's not going so well for him in the romance department in Storybrooke. David is faced with a decision to choose between Mary and Kathryn. Regina is still creepin' around being a bitch to everyone and tells Mary to stay away from David because they don't belong together. David however, chooses to leave Kathryn and meet Mary on the bridge. When he gets lost, he stops at Mr. Gold's shop and sees something that triggers his memory. Not of Fairy Tale Land, but of his life with Kathryn. He decides to go back with her and lets Mary down. Nooooooooo.
