Officers Rescue Adorable Chihuahua After Low-Speed Pursuit (VIDEOS, PHOTO)

By Cassandra Rose ·

After leading police on a not-so-high-speed chase on the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge yesterday (April 3), a missing chihuahua has been taken into custody.

The canine evaded capture for some time, even causing portions of the bridge to be shut down before police could catch him.

The apprehended fugitive has been named Ponch after Erik Estrada's character in the TV series CHiPs.

Police and animal rescue workers for SF County Animal Care are currently trying to reunite the pooch with his owner.
