OAK to JFK

I will be in the air for most of Monday. I leave the Bay Area at 1 pm PT then arrive in New York at 10 pm ET, so basically I just lost a day to travel -- although I am taking this time to read a six-month backlog of comic books which I brought with me to read in jetBlue. When I get home I will discover if my DVR and iMac recorded Desperate Housewives and Prison Break (and some Philippine TV shows from DirecTV). I will either be devastated or thrilled. I'll let you know.

I picked up some ideas from the Webzine 2005 conference. I'm constantly trying to figure out how to find information easier on the blog, so I'll give it some thought with the tips I got from Webzine. I didn't meet a lot of people since I was shy, but I did talk in front of a camera for a video clip promoting rickey.org. Yay! I think I was a bit threatened by the shear number of geeks in the room, but now I know what to expect the next time.

I enjoyed my short stay in the Bay Area -- mostly because I was able to spend some time with my high school buddy Ralph and his wife Joann. Joann, who used to run a catering company in the Philippines, prepared for us two excellent restaurant-style dinners, which I felt humbled by.

It was a great break, and I think I am ready to do the grind again in New York with my Yankees and my Jets.
