NRA wants U.S. Congress to put armed police in every school
The NRA broke their silence over the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre with a press conference from CEO Wayne LaPierre this morning.
After pushing to distribute 300 million guns to America's sane and insane population, the NRA is now calling on the U.S. government to arm the nation's schools to protect them from these guns. He also blames the "corrupting shadow industry" of video games for the massacre.
From TPM:
National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre said Friday that "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.""Would you rather have your 911 call bring a good guy with a gun from a mile away or from a minute away?" LaPierre said at a news conference in Washington, D.C.
Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, sought to draw attention to what he called the "corrupting shadow industry" of violent video games during a press conference on Friday.
"There exists in this country, sadly, a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells and stows violence against its own people," LaPierre said. "Through vicious, violent video games with names like "Bulletstorm," "Grand Theft Auto," "Mortal Kombat," and "Splatterhouse."
"I call on Congress today to act immediately to appropriate whatever is necessary to put armed police officers in every single school in this nation," LaPierre said.
