What is this a race???

Nicki Minaj announced on Twitter that she has left American Idol, just moments after Mariah Carey confirmed her departure from the show.

I'm so sad Nicki is leaving! She was an amazing judge. Simon Cowell should have waited. Nicki would have been amazing on The X Factor.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM FOX:

“Nicki Minaj is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to AMERICAN IDOL and who had a tremendous positive impact on so many contestants this season. Given her extremely busy career, we understand and respect her decision and wish her the best.”
