Nicki Minaj Announces Release Date for 'The Pinkprint'

The release of "Anaconda" is still fresh in the minds of hip hop fans (and...um, booty enthusiasts?), so it makes sense that Nicki Minaj would take advantage of all the buzz to announce the official release date of her new album, The Pinkprint.

Nicki announced that The Pinkprint would release on November 24th, but not before detailing her comparisons to Jay Z's The Blueprint.

"Jay had his Blueprint albums and that’s what I feel like this album’s gonna be," Minaj said in an interview with DJ Semtex on BBC Radio 1Xtra. "I really feel like this album will be like a Blueprint for female rappers to come, so that alone should tell you how confident I am about the music."

The album already has two successful singles in "Pills n Potions" and "Anaconda", but many fans are wondering if Nicki might not be trading in her rap cred for pop stardom. The Pinkprint seems to be her mission statement, a declaration that she's still very much in the rap game, and intent on keeping Iggy Azalea from overtaking her as the top female MC in the mainstream, which is a tall order considering what a huge year it's been for Iggy so far. You could probably argue the quality of Iggy's flow/writing, but she's had more than her share of success in 2014 -- more than enough to rival Nicki's.

Now, all that's left is to wait for November 24th, and hope The Pinkprint is good.
