Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey make Peace at American Idol auditions

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey got back to work today at the American Idol auditions in Charlotte, NC -- putting yesterday's expletive-laced flare up behind them -- for now.

TMZ reports that the two judges have "buried the hatchet."

As much as we keep on repeating that American Idol is about the contestants, it's really about the judges now. If they paid Mariah Carey $18 million it better well damn be! I'm glad that Nigel Lythgoe is putting FOX's dollars to good use.

I love this show! Next season is going to be amazing, probably the best season ever. I believe.

No blood today on the set of "American Idol." In fact, it was downright peaceful and professional ... sources connected with the show tell TMZ.

We're told from outward appearances at least ... Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj buried the hatchet and were civil with each other during the entire day of auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our sources say everyone was "embarrassed" by the outburst between Nicki and Mariah captured on video and posted on TMZ. They apparently took it to heart. Our spies say the confrontation "shocked everyone back into place."
