Nick Jonas, Idina Menzel, More Appearing at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2014
Halloween is in the rearview mirror as we look ahead to the holiday season, with Thanksgiving just three weeks away. And that means the return of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of the most popular TV events of the holiday season. But who can we expect to see at the 2014 parade?
The 88th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature appearances by Nick Jonas, Sting, Idina Menzel, the cast of Sesame Street, KISS, Meghan Trainor, Quvenzhane Wallis and Renee Fleming. In addition, Latin star Romeo Santos, Miss USA 2014 Nia Sanchez and former NHL players John LeClair and Pat LaFontaine will also join the festivities. No word on which of these stars will be performing, and which will simply be making an appearance, but this is already shaping up to be one of the more star-studded iterations of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in recent memory. Of course, for a lot of people (myself included...hell, myself especially), the lineup isn't as important as the event itself, which gives that holiday nostalgia kick that can help fuel the rest of the day. Because hey, if you're going to be cooking all day, it's probably going to require some holiday spirit.
The parade broadcast will kick off at 9:00 AM ET, with Philadelphia's Taney Dragons leading the march with star pitcher, 13-year-old Mo'ne Davis. All in all, over 8,000 people will participate in the event, which makes this a pretty packed spectacular. The three-hour special, hosted by the cast of NBC's The Today Show, will air on November 27th.
