Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams frontrunners to judge American Idol

According to numerous reports, Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams are close to signing as judges for American Idol Season 12.

I'm actually on board with Nick Jonas on Idol. But I really want Randy Jackson on the panel. He is the glue that holds the show together.

NICK JONAS and PHARRELL WILLIAMS are reportedly frontrunners to fill the empty judges' seats on AMERICAN IDOL.

After the departure of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler in early July (12), the new Idol line-up is slowly coming together, with pop diva Mariah Carey officially joining the team last week (23Jul12). Now the latest names to be thrown in the mix are notable musicians who are sure to garner support from younger viewers.

According to Us Weekly magazine, Idol insiders reveal that the youngest Jonas Brother and N.E.R.D. rapper Williams are close to sealing the deal with the show's execs.

The 19 year old heartthrob has had an extreme amount of success at his age with his multi-selling band and also a four-month run as the lead on Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Pharrell would also be an excellent addition to the cast, as he is not only an acclaimed musician, but has also produced hit records for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani.

The Idol source also discloses that veteran judge, Randy Jackson, will be moved to a mentor role for the show's upcoming 12th season.
