A man pretending to work for Nick Cannon has taken off with thousands of dollars in jewelry from Fred Segal after conning the store.
According to TMZ, a man pretending to be part of Cannon's crew called the high-end retailer and said that he needed to pick up jewelry for Nick's wife Mariah Carey ASAP.
Somehow not thinking this was shady at all, the man then told the clerk to meet him at the Roosevelt Hotel with said jewelry.
To make matters worse, she threw the jewelry in the bag and drove over. A security guard awaited her, took the merchandise and said he would return with cash from Cannon who wanted to avoid paying taxes.
And then surprise, surprise neither men were ever seen again.
But officer, he was dressed like a security guard, so surely he had to be a security guard.
