Nick Cannon Addresses Split From Mariah Carey in Epic Twitter Rant
After confirming rumors of his separation from Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon has endured a lot of speculation as to what happened to their marriage. The speculation has been so prevalent, in fact, that the America's Got Talent host felt it necessary to address all the chatter, as he felt some websites were taking a malicious approach towards Mariah in their reportage.
So how did Nick lash out? By taking to Twitter to deliver an epic, 19-tweet rant that addresses how social media and the press have hounded Mariah and painted her as the bad guy in their relationship, when that hasn't been the case at all. Nick defends the mother of his children by not only proclaiming his respect for her, but vowing that he'll love her forever. It's an immensely passionate rant, to the point where it almost felt like voyeurism to read it. Nick clearly has a lot on his mind, and social media provided him the platform to address it on his own terms.

Say what you will about Nick's decision to use Twitter as the platform for his statement on the situation, but his passion and desire to defend the mother of his children from public scrutiny is kind of admirable, actually. He seems to recognize his own fault in the dissolution of the marriage, and wants everyone to know that Mariah isn't the villain she's been portrayed to be. If he can't stop the public conversations about his marriage, he can at least do his best to change the nature of the conversation. For as often as Twitter can be a celebrity's Achilles Heel, it can also be a celeb's most useful tool.
