New 'Walking Dead' Book Series in the Works

With a four-novel collaboration under their belt already, Jay Bonansinga and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman will be joining up again for another four-book series set in the Walking Dead universe.

Descent will be the first book in a new series chronicling how Lilly Caul, a character from the original comic book series who was a key figure in the previous book, The Road to Woodbury, attempts to rebuild the failed community following The Governor's death.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Jay Bonansinga on more novels,” says Kirkman. “There is quite a bit of unexplored territory left in the Walking Dead universe and I think people are going to love what Jay brings to this world in this medium.”

The Walking Dead: Descent will be published by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press, and will hit bookshelves and online retailers on Oct. 14. You can check out the full cover for the book below:
