FOX is looking to bulk up the star power of its comedy lineup for next year's TV season.

The network has given the official greenlight to the currently untitled multi-camera comedy from Tina Fey and fellow 30 Rock vets Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock. The project received a series commitment from FOX back in August, and looks about ready to move forward with pre-production, although there is no word on casting as of yet.

The series centers on a women's college that begins accepting men, and the turmoil the decision creates. In addition to greenlighting the pilot, FOX has confirmed that Pam Fryman, a longtime director on CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, will direct the pilot.

I dig the premise, although I'm not sure FOX is going to find much success in multi-camera comedies, given the failure of Dads. FOX comedies tend to be stronger with single-cam setups. But the pedigree behind the series gives me more hope for it than most, as Tina Fey is one of the sharpest comedic minds in the business, particularly where television is concerned. It should be interesting to see the project develop.
