New 'Gone Girl' Trailer Adds More Mystery, More Ben Affleck (VIDEO)

Academy Award nominee David Fincher is directing Gone Girl, one of the year's most anticipated films. Based on the bestseller by Gillian Flynn, it's a big screen transfer that may just rival The Fault In Our Stars and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 for "2014's Most Anticipated Book Adaptation". But will it be any good? The latest trailer suggests that it might just go beyond "good".

The moody, atmospheric trailer features Ben Affleck as a husband catching hell from all sides. Not only has his wife gone missing on their fifth wedding anniversary, but he's getting attacked by the media for having a possible connection in her murder. Because the husband HAD to have done it, right? But what if the media is actually on the money? Was the union of Nick and Amy Dunne really as blissful as Nick would have us believe? Or is the eponymous Gone Girl the victim of an angry husband? The movie is being buzzed about as a possible Oscar contender, and this trailer suggests there could be real truth to the hype. At the very least, the film packs a loaded cast, including Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, Rosamund Pike, Tyler Perry, and more. But what do you think? Does the film look like a winner? Judge for yourself by checking out the trailer below:

Gone Girl hits theaters on October 3rd.
