New 'Doctor Who' Season 8 Teaser Asks Us to 'Listen!' (VIDEO)

The new Doctor is on his way for Doctor Who Season 8, and Peter Capaldi appears more than up to the task of filling Matt Smith's shoes. Of course, it doesn't help our anticipation that all the teasers have been so maddeningly brief (okay, maybe not all of them). And this latest teaser, titled "Listen!", is no different.

The camera pans up along the iconic TARDIS to find Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor sitting at the top, legs crossed, apparently in a state of deep meditation. All at once, the camera zooms in, his eyes open, and he speaks the words "Listen!" with about as much intensity as anyone could possibly muster out of nowhere. Maybe he's telling us to listen to the BBC when they ask us not to spoil Season 8 for other fans, or perhaps he's telling us to listen up for updates on when we can see the Season 8 premiere in theaters. Or who knows? Maybe it's even a reference to The Master, who memorably spoke the words "Just listen!" in the Season 4 finale, "The End of Time". Either way, I may just be an outrageously simple man to entertain, but this got me way more excited for the new season than just about anything I've seen so far. Doctor Who Season 8 doesn't premiere until August 23rd, but you can check out the full teaser below:
