NBC Station Drops 'Hannibal'

NBC "Hannibal"

Well, who'd of thought a television station run by The Church of Latter Day Saints wouldn't enjoy a series about killing and eating people? Hannibal is being dropped by NBC affiliate station KSL TV in Salt Lake City, Utah. The show, which is admittedly very heavy on the graphic gore, will see its time slot replaced by a special edition of the KSL 5 News. Some sources claim that Hannibal will make its way on air via a CW affiliate in the area. KSL TV also made waves for pulling The Playboy Club from its lineup some time ago.

On making the decision to murder Hannibal, the station had this to say in a statement:
After viewing the past few episodes, as well as receiving numerous complaints from viewers, KSL TV will cancel the airing of the NBC showHannibal on Thursday evenings... KSL is confident that with the proliferation of digital media, those who wish to view the program can easily do so.
Maybe I'm the crazy one, but Hannibal isn't intended for younger viewers, clearly. Do adults really need to call up a television station and complain about a show they're not forced to tune in to?
