NBC cancels Bill Cosby sitcom plan

NBC had stopped development of a Bill Cosby sitcom after mounting allegations of sexual assault against the comedian.

EW reports that the show's writers were informed on Wednesday that the series would not be moving forward.

The pilot was to be written by Mike O'Malley of Glee and Mike Sikowitz. The show was to debut next fall.

Yesterday, supermodel and reality TV star Janice Dickinson added her name to the list of women Bill Cosby had sexually assaulted in the last 30 years.

Netflix also announced this week that it will not stream a planned special on Bill Cosby. A spokesman said:

"At this time we are postponing the launch of the new stand-up comedy special Bill Cosby 77."
