NBA - All-Star Game 2013 - Starting Lineup Revealed

A brand new year, another NBA All-Star game, and almost the same starting lineup as last year. The differences from last year's starting lineup are: Dwight Howard represents the West now, Derrick Rose & Andrew Bynum will not be starting this season, Kevin Garnett will be front and center for the East, and Rajon Rondo has been promoted to East Backcourt Starter. In 2012, the West barely beat the East by a mere three points: 152 - 149. Kevin Durant led the way for the West, and deservedly won the MVP award after last year's game. I think 2013's starting lineup will be my favorite All-Star Starting Lineup thus far. I love pro basketball.

The Starters for the East Coast:

LeBron James, Miami Heat: Forward -

3-time MVP holder LeBron James has definitely earned his spot in the starting lineup. His frequent cockiness on the court may turn me off, but there's no denying his talent. He's the youngest ever to reach 20,000 points, and he'll likely break more records in the future. This will be his 9th All-Star game.

Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks: Forward -

Melo's one of my Top 10 NBA players. He's someone that I look forward to watching. He's averaging 29.3 points per game this season--the highest of his career thus far. He's definitely in the running for the 2012-2013 Regular Season MVP trophy... Just look at how far the Knicks have come! The Knicks are currently #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. This will be his 6th All-Star game.

Kevin Garnett, Boston Celtics: Center -

KG is a veteran athlete who's been in the league for 17+ years. Do you think it's time for him to retire? Let me know in the comments below. In truth, he is one of my least favorite players in the league... mainly because of his big mouth. If he can learn to fix that filter of his, that would be great. Though putting my personal feelings aside, he DOES deserve a spot in the starting lineup. This will be his 15th All-Star game.

Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat: Guard -

Dwyane's my boy! He's one of my Top 10 players in the NBA. Not only is he an incredible athlete, but he's an amazing philanthropist and he has an incredible smile. It upsets me that he's now standing in the shadows of LeBron, but he's still my favorite on the Miami Heat. This will be his 9th All-Star game.

Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics: Guard -

I think Rajon is the Celtics' best player, and his level of play definitely reflects in his overall stats. He currently leads the league in assists per game. I'm happy that he's in the starting lineup now. This will be his 4th All-Star game.

The Starters for the West Coast:

Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder: Forward -

THE DURANTULA IS JUST AWESOME. Kevin's also on my Top 10 list. Just look what he's done for the Thunder... they're not only the best in the West, but the best in the NBA. Kevin definitely deserves the MVP this season! This will be his 4th NBA All-Star game.

Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers: Forward -

Blake's got hops. Serious hops. He's superhuman, and he can seriously dunk. This will be his 3rd All-Star game.

Dwight Howard, Los Angeles Lakers: Center -

This is also my man right ova' here! Dwight aka SUPERMAN is my second favorite player of all time. The Lakers are performing terribly this season, but you cannot have an All-Star game without Dwight. He has everything: the body, the talent, the skills, the looks, the sense of humor, the confidence, etc. This will be his 7th All-Star game.

Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers: Guard -

Chris is also deserved of the MVP trophy this season. The Clippers currently hold the second best record in the NBA, second only to the Thunder. He truly is the heart and soul of the Clippers. This will be his 6th All-Star game.

Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers: Guard -

Last but not least, the one and only Mr. Kobe Bean Bryant. He's always been my favorite player because his moves are often acrobatic and circus-like. He's unreal. Unfortunately, the Lakers are not performing up to par this season. This will be his 15th All-Star game.
