Nathan Fillion Has a Cameo In 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
In what just might be the best news I've come across all day, Castle star and all-around geek god Nathan Fillion has a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy.
It's not yet known what role Fillion will play, but director James Gunn says the rumors of Fillion as Nova, an ally of Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, are "greatly (and entirely) exaggerated."
The rumors of my pal @NathanFillion playing Nova in #guardiansofthegalaxy have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated. Sorry, humans.

However, Gunn notes that Fillion "has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me." The two previously collaborated on the superhero action-comedy Super and the horror-comedy Slither.
Fillion is a perfect fit for Guardians of the Galaxy, which seems like a lighter, more adventurous take on the traditional Marvel action blockbuster. If nothing else, his wise-talking, space-traversing role as Mal Reynolds on the short-lived FOX series Firefly (and its big-screen counterpart, Serenity) shares a lot with Chris Pratt's role as Peter "Star-Lord" Quill. Hell, they could practically be father and son. Not that I'm suggesting they are, but...man, I just need Guardians of the Galaxy to come out already.
So what role do you think Fillion will play? Sound off in the comments!
