Nathan Adrian Wins Gold for USA - Men's 100m Freestyle - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

Nathan Adrian has won a gold medal for the United States in the Men's 100m Freestyle at the London 2012 Olympics.  Read on for your medal results.

James "the missile" Magnussen of Australia was heavily favored to win this race and with 15 meters to go, it looked like he was going to do it.  Nathan Adrian had been leading up to that point, but appeared to be fading as Magnussen passed him.  However, Adrian, who has already turned in some brilliant performances in the relay races, wasn't done yet.

Somehow, Adrian managed to dig deep and find the strength to catch Magnussen and out touch him at the wall, winning gold by just .01 seconds....the smallest possible margin.  This was a super exciting race and I'm so proud of Adrian for never giving up and coming up with a magnificent win!  Plus he's cute too!

Results:

Gold: Nathan Adrian - United States

Silver: James Magnussen - Australia

Bronze:  Brent Hayden - Canada

Congratulations to all the medalists!
