The Music of Nashville: Season 2, Volume 2 To Be Released

It has been announced that The Music of Nashville: Season 2, Volume 2 soundtrack album will be released on May 6. The collection, which features 11 tracks (21 on the Target exclusive deluxe) is pulled from ABC's Nashville and released in association with Big Machine Records, the home of acts like Taylor Swift and Florida Georgia Line.

Taking songs from the second half of season 2 of the hit show (which will probably be renewed for a third season), it follows the airing of a special concert show at the Ryman Auditorium in Music City itself, titled Nashville: On The Record. The show featured the actors singing a selection of their songs, and aired on April 23rd in place of their usual time slot (normal schedule resumes this coming Wednesday, April 30th for the final three episodes). A live recording of this special show remained at #1 on both the all-genre and country iTunes charts for several days following its release.
