MTV VMAs Heading Back to West Coast for 2014

The MTV Video Music Awards might as well make its theme song for 2014, since the awards show apparently misses home.

After heading to New York for the 2013 VMAs, MTV has announced that the VMAs will be returning to the West Coast this summer. The 2014 VMAs will be the first major awards ceremony to be broadcast from the Forum in Inglewood, California. The Forum has recently received a $100 million makeover, reopening in January to host such talents as Justin Timberlake and the Eagles. So it should be more than ready to receive the VMAs this summer. Now the only question is who they'll get to host, if they even go with a host at all this year. But then, the previous ceremonies that didn't have one felt strange, to say the least. The VMAs haven't always been as relevant in recent years as they used to be (save for the whole Miley Cyrus/Robin Thicke fiasco), so maybe a return to CA will bring its profile back up.
