MTV Video Music Awards 2014: Beyonce Leads With 8 Nominations (FULL LIST)
The nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards 2014 are in, and Beyonce is out in front of the pack. Queen Bey snagged eight nominations, including Video of the Year for "Drunk In Love" alongside husband Jay Z. Iggy Azalea and Eminem are close behind, however, as both rappers have been nominated for seven awards apiece. "Fancy," Azalea's collaboration with Charli XCX, will compete against "Drunk In Love" for Video of the Year, alongside fellow nominees "Chandelier" by Sia, "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, the sole male nominee in the category.
Meanwhile, it's a battle between two huge UK artists for Best Male Video, as Ed Sheeran ("Sing") squares off against Sam Smith ("Stay With Me"), while Best Female Video sees Iggy Azalea squaring off against...herself? Apparently so, as she's double-nominated for "Fancy" as well as "Problems" (her collaboration with Ariana Grande). In a similarly huge development, Fifth Harmony -- fresh off their debut on the Billboard Hot 100 with "BO$$" -- are now VMA nominees! The former X Factor USA finalists have been nominated alongside 5 Seconds of Summer, Charlie XCX, Sam Smith and Schoolboy Q for Artist to Watch. In short, it's a diverse and interesting lineup this year.
