Hey Guys, Monica Lewinsky is Back
Monica Lewinsky is back, so we think it's time to party like it's the Clinton administration. Because those were the days.
After ten years of radio silence, Lewinsky (you know, the White House intern who had the affair with Bill Clinton and made him even more popular) has returned (thankfully without Linda Tripp) to pen an essay for Vanity Fair which is scheduled to be released this Thursday (May 8). "I. Myself. Deeply. Regret. What. Happened.," Lewinsky writes in the essay. The Clinton administration, the special prosecutor’s minions, the political operatives on both sides of the aisle, and the media were able to brand me."She also used the essay to pass on to Beyonce the tidbit, "Thanks, Beyonce, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d."
So what does she plan to do with her return to public life?
Inspired by the suicide of 18-year-old Rutgers student Tyler Clementi, Monica says she wondered how she could help. "Perhaps by sharing my story, I reasoned, I might be able to help others in their darkest moments of humiliation."
According to Lewinsky, "Thanks to the Drudge Report, I was also possibly the first person whose global humiliation was driven by the Internet... [my goal] is to get involved with efforts on behalf of victims of online humiliation and harassment and to start speaking on this topic in public forums."
