Modern Family - Unplugged - Recap

Claire gets fed up with her family's dependence on technology and sets a challenge. One week without gadgets, ipods, internet, or cell phones. Life seemed so much simpler before Apple invaded my life. Phil takes it to another level and makes the challenge a bet and a contest. The family member who lasts the longest without technology gets whatever they want. Hayley wants a car and Luke wants chicken pot pie. Hayley is the obvious challenge here. It's not long before the others fold and it comes down to Phil and Hayley. Phil is doing great until he panics about his fantasy football team. Claire and Phil rush upstairs to catch Hayley on her cell phone and celebrate over the fact they don't have to buy her a car. Phil hops onto his computer and Hayley reveals she was talking into a colored in bar of soap. Snap.

Gloria is tired of being woken up every morning by a neighbors dog and goes next door to tell him off. The neighbor doesn't want to be bothered and sends them on their way. The next day, the same neighbor shows up at Jay's front door demanding to know what happened to his dog. Jay panics that Gloria, who has a history of being okay with killing animals, has killed his dog. Manny and Jay try to investigate the shovel for signs of dog blood and Gloria catches them. She confesses she would never kill a dog but instead, stole the dog and gave him to a relative for a jar of pickles. Uh..that's not much better.

Cam and Mitchell panic when they realize all of Lily's friends are starting preschool already. Thinking there are no more spots left for them, they call up anyone they can for an interview. They narrow it down to a charming school with lots of duckies who would be more than happy to have them because they're gay. And that makes them a prize. A gay couple with an Asian baby is great press. Realizing this, Mitchell decides to use his gayness to his advantage and get Lily an interview at the Harvard of preschools. They show up confident in their upper hand but lose all hope when an interracial lesbian couple with an African baby walks in. Cam apparently thinks to beat them, he needs to morph into a Native American. Bahaha. Lesbians win.
