Modern Family - The Musical Man - Recap

Jay's brother comes to town to visit and pick up where he left off on a vicious prank war with Jay. Gloria is disturbed by the relationship Jay seems to have with his brother. He doesn't know anything about him anymore. She encourages Jay to get closer to his brother so Jay gives in and tries to make an effort. He learns that things haven't been going that great for his brother who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Jay is shocked and immediately starts treating his brother differently. This is not the relationship they're used to and not the relationship Jay's brother is looking for. He would much rather have Jay punch him in the gut and call it a day.

Phil convinces the family to pose for a new real estate ad for his business that he plans to have put on their mini van. The slogan? "I can't be satisfied unless you're satisfied." Yeah. This goes about how you would figure it would. One side of the car has a huge picture of Claire with the words "I can't be satisfied" while the other side has Haley. Phil is thrilled when the phone begins ringing off the hook until he realizes the real reason every perv in town is calling. He tries to hide it from the girls but it's not long before they notice. Haley is once again embarrassed to be related to them but Claire is happy she's still a hottie.

Cam worms his way into becoming the musical director for Manny's school musical and he goes a little crazy with it. He begins treating it like a broadway production until half the kids start to lose it. One kid can't even poop from the stress according to Manny. Manny stands up to Cam and the rest of the class joins in. Cam refuses to back down and the result is a disastrous open night that leaves Luke dangling from the ceiling for hours.
