Modern Family - Egg Drop - Recap

Claire and Jay compete to come up with the best project for Luke and Manny when they are assigned to create an Egg Drop. Jay knows Claire won't let Luke do it on his own so he schemes to get in her head and give Manny a fighting chance to beat Luke. This is one competitive family. I also learned here that Jay really doesn't like the idea of someone cutting grapes.

Phil asks Haley and Gloria for help with his real estate seminar. When the two of them leave to get manicures, their car is towed and they don't make it back in time. Phil is left trying to announce himself and almost take his eye out with a confetti cannon. Haley gets in Gloria's head that Phil puts her on a pedestal and will never get mad at her for anything she does. This causes Gloria to demand he yell and be furious with her. He's really just in it for the hugs.

Mitch and Cam are looking for birth mothers for their future son. They invite a prospective mother over for an interview and basically have to pretend she isn't annoying and irritating. She rearranges their furniture, says it's okay to eat dolphins and then does the worst to Cam. When she demands the two of them sing to her so she can know the baby will be in a musical household, she thinks Mitchell is a better singer and Cam is a little pitchy. This causes Cam to sing a sad song to prove his voice is amazing. What he succeeds in doing is convincing the mother to keep her baby.
