Modern Family - Caught in the Act - Recap
Jay and Gloria are taking a trip to Vegas and Gloria needs to get out of a bake sale with Claire. She can't think of the perfect excuse so Jay types out her rant about how controlling Claire is as a joke. Naturally, the email accidentally sends to Claire and Gloria starts to panic. After calling the house and hearing that Claire is upset, Gloria postpones the trip to head over to their house immediately. Little does she know, Claire is upset for a very different reason.
It's Claire and Phil's anniversary so the kids want to bring them breakfast in bed. The trouble is, they're already getting busy in bed and the kids walk in on them. They run out, Alex washes out her eyes in a blind panic while Haley grabs the keys and wants to get out of the house as soon as possible. Phil and Claire worry about how to handle the situation and how best to discuss it with them. My guess is less is more but that's really not the kind of parents they are.
Gloria rushes over and pleads with Claire to accept her apology because she knows how she feels. She tells Claire she's been in this situation before and nothing would make her happier than to share her cupcakes with Claire. Yeah. It sounded exactly like you'd think it would. Phil almost passes out from the imagery. When Gloria learns that Claire never even saw the email, she fibs that she accidentally sent her a naked picture of herself and deletes the email.
Cam and Mitchell fret over the lack of decent nearby restaurants. Being forced to eat at a crap shack when they don't feel like going out has taken a toll on them. Lucky for them, a fancy and fabulous new restaurant opens up two blocks away. Unfortunately for them, it's one of those restaurants that's impossible to get a reservation for. They're delighted when they learn that the owner of the restaurant has a child in Lily's playschool and they set up a playdate to schmooze her immediately.
When they're left alone inside the house, Cam accidentally spills juice over her 50,000 dollar rug. They panic when she returns and tell her that her child is the one that caused the stain after drinking some juice. The lady freaks out about her kid being allergic to the juice and prepares him for an injection of medication. They confess before she can stab her child with the needle and resign to the fact they will be eating questionable food for a very long time.
