Missing Dog Rescued from Sinkhole After Three Days (VIDEO)

A 12-year-old German shepherd named Maverick went missing in Liberty, Missouri on Thursday evening, only to be found three days later underground in a sinkhole.

Before you get worried though, despite being five feet under, the pooch was rescued and is doing better.

"I walked this road. I walked down and back and walked on this side and came right here and heard a moan, like a bark," said Maverick's owner Lisa.

After hearing his cry, the family quickly went to work and rescued the canine.

According to the Platte County Director of Public Works, "water caused a water pipe to rust, and water pouring out of the hole that developed washed away the soil and created the sinkhole."
