The premiere of The Voice 6 is still well over a month away, but information is already starting to come in on what we can expect from the kickoff season for the 2014 Voice cycle. And from the looks of it, this is already prepping to be the most drama-packed season yet.
Miranda Lambert is joining the show as a mentor. But that's not the big news. The real shocker is which team she'll be assisting on the new season. The announcement was made official on Twitter:
.@Shakira announces @MirandaLambert as her team’s Season 6 mentor. @BlakeShelton was not available for comments ;)

So after five seasons of Blake Shelton humorously using his marriage to Miranda Lambert as a means of getting prospective country singers to join his team, Lambert has now decided to join the show, but on an opposing team! This is huge! And I also wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this were a test run for Lambert as a potential coach in future seasons, if only for the husband vs. wife dynamic (although I'm not sure if audiences would go for it, lest the show run the risk of becoming Nashville Star. People remember Nashville Star, right?).
So what do you think of Miranda Lambert joining Team Shakira as mentor on The Voice? Sound off in the comments!
