Miley Cyrus appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' eponymous talk show this morning (Oct. 11) and because she's an interviewer with magical powers, Ellen was able to get Miley to talk about her breakup with Liam Hemsworth.
Yer a wizard, Ellen!
DeGeneres opened the interview by reminding Miley that she threw her an engagement party the last time she was on the show before asking, "Is that an awkward thing that all this attention is going on and you aren't with him anymore?"
"It's not really as awkward because I'm living it. I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do," Cyrus responded. "I just believe that when a chapter is done, you have to close it and start that new one. That's kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."
She then asked fans to pay attention to her music rather than her personal life, even though she would go on to admit that her new album Bangerz is about her relationship.
So therefore, don't pay attention to her music either because it's about her personal life. Phew, glad we settled that.
"I'm just letting that chapter kind of close, and just looking forward to that new one," Cyrus concluded. "I keep saying I'm the happiest I've ever been and that's not even a dig, that's just me because I really am genuinely happy finally with myself. I think sometimes it takes you separating yourself from someone else to really be happy with who you are. I've never been able to just be alone -- and I'm obsessed with being alone and hearing my thoughts."
