Two weeks removed from giving a guillotine leg drop to a fan in the crowd at the Billboard Music Awards, R&B singer Miguel has apparently shied away from damage control. In fact, he's doing his publicity team one better: the 27-year-old singer took to Twitter for a controversial rant about race that comes perilously close to generalization.
The singer, a Grammy winner of both African-American and Mexican-American descent, expressed his thoughts on what he perceives to be the self-loathing nature of his race.
Im proud of my heritage but honestly, black people are the most judgmental people in the world. Shits sad man.

we've been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves

that's why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture

the problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans

Perhaps realizing that he was coming perilously close to generalizing about an entire race, Miguel tweeted...
Of course EVERYONE is judgemental. I just PERSONALLY believe WE are the most critical of our own

The Twitter rant was prompted by a tweet from a fan who accused the singer of selling his soul. "Don't be an idiot," replied Miguel in a now-deleted Tweet, before continuing with the above series.
In his Twitter bio, the singer warns: "Dont follow Me, I'm trouble". So you can't say he didn't warn you, I suppose.
