Michigan issues 1st Gay Marriage license - Video

Michigan issued its first gay marriage license today after a federal court ruled that a ban on gay marriage was unconstitutional.

Marriage licenses were issued immediately after the ruling. However a few hours later, an appeals court issued an order preventing more marriages as it considers the state's appeal of the ruling. (This is similar to what happened in Utah).

From AP:

Seventeen states and the District of Columbia issue licenses for same-sex marriage. Since December, bans on gay marriage have been overturned in Texas, Utah, Oklahoma and Virginia, but appeals have put those cases on hold.

It's really ironic that gay marriage is now legal because the Republicans tried to ban it with laws. Now those laws have created a definitive result: you cannot ban gay marriage -- the constitution of the United States won't allow it. Thank you Republicans!
