Michael Muhney fired from 'The Young and the Restless'
Michael Muhney is leaving The Young and the Restless as Adam Newman. He is the latest in a string of departures from the CBS soaps.
Muhney, who was also Sheriff Don Lamb on Veronica Mars, has portrayed Adam since 2009. He made the announcement himself in a series of tweets today:
I'm so sorry. It breaks my heart to say this, but I was just let go from Y&R. My last day on set is this Thursday.
— Michael Muhney (@michaelmuhney) December 17, 2013My last air date will be Jan 30th. I'm going to take some private time with my wife & kids, as I am most concerned for their well-being...
— Michael Muhney (@michaelmuhney) December 17, 2013I have 3 final episodes to film, and because they are my last, I will be giving it everything I have. More details will follow... #xoxoxo
— Michael Muhney (@michaelmuhney) December 17, 2013Jeanne Cooper, who portayed Katherine Chancellor on the show for 40 years, passed earlier this year. Series vet Michelle Stafford also exited the soap, along with Emme Rylan. Billy Miller is set to leave as well.
Michael Muhney gave a bang-up job as Adam, but I am still fond of his original predecessor, Chris Engen.
Are you sad to see Muhney go? Is Y&R changing too much for you?
