TMZ is reporting that exiting The Young and the Restless star Michael Muhney was fired from the show for allegedly "harassing" and groping co-star Hunter King.
We first reported last month that Muhney had been fired from his popular role of Adam Newman, a role he has held since 2009. King has portrayed Muhney's on-screen niece, Summer Newman, since 2012.
Since the news came out, many co-stars and insiders claim that producer, Jill Farren Phelps was not at fault for the dismissal and there was more to the situation.
Sources close to Y&R tell TMZ "38-year-old Muhney allegedly bullied and harassed 20-year-old Hunter King, who plays Summer on the show. She went to higher-ups and complained recently Muhney had fondled her breasts on 2 occasions -- and she said both were unsolicited and unwanted" The report said the new allegations "broke the straw on the camel's back."
Muhney will last air on Y&R on January 30th. Fans have been protesting exit, with some even threatening to stop watching. However, this sure is one heck of a development to send heads turning. I'm sure we'll hear more soon.
