Michael Cera Releases an Album, Because Why Not (MP3 STREAM)

Believe it or not, Michael Cera has music skills. Whether it's strumming his guitar and singing with Ellen Page in Juno, or providing backing vocals and guitar on Weezer's Hurley, or even playing live alongside indie darlings Mister Heavenly, Cera has proven he knows a thing or two about how to carry a tune. So it probably shouldn't be all that surprising that he's gone ahead and released a solo album -- yet it kind of is surprising.

Why?

Well, other than the obvious "Because it's Michael Cera" explanation, it's because he actually released the album last week and, apparently, hardly anyone noticed. It wasn't until Cera's good friend Jonah Hill tweeted out the link that the album gained wider attention.

"My great friend Michael Cera not only is a brilliant actor," Hill wrote, adding, "he also makes great music."

So how is the album?

It's...actually quite good. I mean, maybe it's because this kind of music is what speaks to me more, but the 18-track album, titled true that, has a home-recorded, intimate quality that a lot of indie albums lack these days. The album is just $7 bucks and includes three bonus tracks upon purchase, so check it out. A preview of the album has been embedded through Jonah Hill's tweet below:
