Remake fever doesn't appear to be ending anytime soon.
MGM is remaking the 1989 action classic Road House, which starred Patrick Swayze as a mysterious bouncer with a tortured past who is hired to maintain order in Missouri's rowdiest bar. The new film will feature Fast and Furious director Rob Cohen at the helm from a script by Michael Stokes, the man behind the upcoming Crash Bandits.
Cohen launched the Fast and the Furious franchise in 2001 before going on to direct other big budget action films such as xXx and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, which more than qualifies him for Road House. He most recently directed the Tyler Perry-starring Alex Cross.
No word on casting yet, but I really can't think of a Swayze equivalent today. I half-expect someone like Channing Tatum to get the nod, but then, I'm no real wizard at this whole "casting guess" thing. How about you? Who should be in this Road House remake? Sound off in the comments!
