Men's Synchronized 10m Platform - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

China continued their dominance in the diving events by winning gold in the Men's Synchronized 10m Platform event at the London 2012 Olympics.  Medal results and reactions to follow.

The 10m platform events are always some of the most thrilling at the summer Olympics. Not only do the competitors need to be graceful, powerful and precise, but they need to be fearless in a sport that has them plummeting to the water at speeds up to 60mph.

In the synchronized event they have the added difficulty of having to match their every move up with a diving partner.  Great Britain and the United States challenged for the lead in the early rounds, but about half way through the Chinese pulled away from the pack and never looked back.

The American team did manage to score their second diving medal of these games by finishing third, which is a step forward for the program, as they had been shut out of the diving medals since the 2000 games prior to the silver medal victory of the women's syncro springboard team.

Results:

Gold: Cao Yuan & Zhang Yanquan - China

Silver: G. Sanchez Sanchez & J. Garcia Navarro - Mexico

Bronze: Nicholas McCrory & David Boudia - United States

Congratulations to all the medalists!
