Men's Long Jump - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

Will Claye tried to jump his way into history for Team USA in the Men's Long Jump event at the 2012 London Olympics.  See how he and all the rest did in your medal results.

Claye had one last shot to jump his way to the gold medal, but scratched on his final attempt and had to settle for bronze.  Greg Rutherford entered the final jump with the gold medal all sewed up, so his last go ended up being a victory hop.  The crowd, which included a very enthusiastic royal contingent went absolutely wild.  Rutherford's gold would end up being just the first of two, as Team GB would also win the gold in the 10,000 meters event right afterwards.  Go Team GB!  Nice effort by the American Claye as well.

Results:

Gold: Greg Rutherford - Great Britain

Silver: Mitchell Watt - Australia

Bronze: Will Claye - United States

Congratulations to all the medalists!
