Men's Lightweight Double Sculls - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

Team USA ruled in the pool yesterday, but Team GB has dominated on the lake so far today.  They tried to make it three in a row in the Men's Lightweight Double Sculls at the London 2012 Olympics.  Read on to see if they succeeded and get all the medal results.

Team GB jumped out to an early lead in this race and appeared to be on their way to an easy victory.  However, a surging Denmark team caught up to them and appeared to be on their way to the gold medal position.  Team GB fought off Denmark for a couple hundred meters and it looked like Denmark was about to fade back to second and Great Britain would claim their third rowing gold of the day.  However, Denmark wasn't done yet.  In the last hundred meters Denmark pulled out in front to stay and captured the gold medal.  Team GB would have to settle for silver.  Still, two golds and silver isn't a bad day's work now is it?  That was some impressive fight from both teams.

Results:

Gold: Mads Rasmussen & Rasmus Quist - Denmark

Silver: Zac Purchase & Mark Hunter - Great Britain

Bronze: Storm Uru & Peter Taylor - New Zealand

Congratulations to all the medalists!
