Men's Double Sculls - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

New Zealand won their first gold medal of the London 2012 Olympics in the Men's Double Sculls event.  Read on for all the medal results.

The pair from Slovenia took the early lead and held it for much of the race, but they were passed by the Italian team about three quarters of the way through.  The Italians held the lead for awhile, but were soon challenged by the team from New Zealand.  It was neck and neck for awhile, but the Italians began to fade and New Zealand surged forward to claim their first gold medal of these Olympic Games.  An exciting finish!

Silver: Alessio Sartori & Romano Battisti - Italy

Bronze: Luka Spik & Iztok Cop - Slovenia
