Men's C-2 - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results
Team GB grabbed both gold and silver in the Men's C-2 event at the London 2012 Olympics. Read on for all the medal results.
In some Olympic events, like gymnastics, it's all about taking something really difficult and making it look really easy. Men's C-2 isn't one of those events. In this race against the clock, the competitors must row a two man canoe down an artificial whitewater course, navigating a series of gates, both up stream and down and avoid touching or missing any of the gates.
The event is both very physical and technical, with the paddlers fighting the water the whole way through. The brothers Hochschorner, of Slovokia were heavily favored to win this event, however they hit a gate on their final run and the resulting penalty cost them chance at gold.
Instead it came down to the two teams from Great Britain for gold and silver. The crowd was going absolutely wild as the second British team completed their run, knowing that team GB would take the gold either way. A great day for team GB!
Results:
Gold: Tim Ballie & Etienne Stott - Great Britain
Silver: David Florence & Richard Hounslow - Great Britain
Bronze: Pavel & Peter Hochschorner
Congratulations to all the medal winners!
