Men's 10m Air Rifle - London 2012 Olympics - Medal Results

Much like yesterday, the 2012 London Olympics' first medal round of the day occurred in a shooting event.  Today it was the Men's 10m Rifle.  The medals were all hotly contested and the final result came down to the last round.  Read on for results and reactions.

Much like the Air Pistol event, the competitors are equipped with head gear, uniforms and futuristic looking weapons that look like something straight out of a Sci Fi movie or video game.  The Air Rifle makes a bit more noise and sounds a bit more like a regular gun, but still has more of a quiet click than a bang.

There was once again a small, but enthusiastic crowd cheering the shooters on and an appearance from the London Artillary Band.  The competitors were intensely focused and while they made a few poor shots in the 8th and 9th rounds, several spectacular shots were made in the final round of the match.

Gold: Alin George Moldoveanu - Romania

Silver: Niccolo Campriani - Italy

Bronze: Gagan Narang - India
