Melinda Sullivan - Conference Call

I survived another conference call! This time with Melinda Sullivan who got voted off So You Think You Can Dance last night.

I asked her if after the harsh comments from the judges if she was able to talk to them after. She said that she was able to talk to Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe for a bit, but she mentioned that she wasn't on the show for the judges comments but to represent the tap community and make the audience more aware of tap dancing.

I wondered if she was able to keep the horrible flower dress she had in her contemporary routine with Ade, but she said that they were not allowed to keep any of the costumes on the show.

For the other questions, she said that she agreed with Adam that she was out of her comfort zone during her salsa routine -- which was also her favorite routine during her experience. She was mostly happy that her "performance was coming through" even if she did not have all the technique down pat.

The all-star she wanted to work with was Twitch whom she had competed against in StarSearch. He wasn't Twitch then, he was Steven. (LOL). She wanted to dance Hip-Hop on the show.

For the future, she really wants to get into acting and perhaps play Ann Miller (who was a tap dancer) in a bio film.

Overall, I found Melinda to be really pleasant during the conference call. She seemed very professional and not bitter at all about the harsh criticisms she had and is already looking forward to her next challenge in her career.
